2 Simple but very Effective Tips to overcome Problems with your Horse
Is there something that your horse doesn’t really like?
Does your horse all of a sudden not want to do a certain behavior anymore - even though it was never a problem before?
There are some things that NEVER really seem to work smoothly?
And you have no idea why?!
I have 2 simple but really effective Tips on how to overcome problems with your horse.
Tip 1| Strength is to be found in serenity!
Worries, stress, anger, frustration, hectic and other negative emotions don’t have a place in horse training.
These emotions won’t help you nor your horse. Rather they will block you from making any progress.
None of us are protected from these emotions. It’s only human to experience them. The important part is that you are fully aware of your emotions when you are with your horse.
It’s a skill that we have to develop in order to be a good partner for your horse.
It’s not going to happen over night. But the better you get at it- the more peaceful and effective your training sessions will be.
Tip 2| Be grateful for your horses' communication!
Be grateful when your horse is ‘talking’ to you.
Even if it’s something that we ourselves experience in the first moment as a ‘negative’ way form of communication that might even scare or throw us off for a second (pinning the ears, showing his teeth, stomping, threatening to bite, threatening to kick, buck,....)
Just like we humans, horses experience ‘ups’ and ‘downs’. They are NOT in the same mood and in the same condition every single day.
They are NOT ‘ HorseBot’s ’ They are our trusting partners and our closest and dearest friends.
And as such - we have to create and allow the space to truly listen to each other’s needs.
💡There’s ALWAYS a reason for your horse's behavior-and the reason is most likely either an emotional or physical one.
And it’s your job to find the best solution.
Having an active dialogue with your horse is key to solving ‘problems’ and opening the door to a strong human-horse bond.
